Beyond Classes (previously Specialty Classes)

WCS Series Classes

Series classes in West Coast Swing consist of (3) 2-hour class sessions, held 5-7pm. Anyone new to West Coast Swing should start with Beginning West Coast Swing. Completing that series is a prerequisite for these classes, which can be taken in any order:

•  6 Count Variations
• Tuck Turns
• Whips

* Because the content in a series class builds from week to week, we ask that if you cannot attend the first session, please join us when the class is offered again. This does not apply to retakes. The retake rate is $30 for this popular option. You must present the voucher on the first night of class!

Classes progress – no new students are admitted after the first week (except for retakes).

• No Partner Needed
• Pre-register, or come 15 minutes early to register in person
• Bring clean, dry shoes (Please change out of street shoes to keep the dance floor clean & dry)

July 2026: Beginning West Coast Swing
August 2026: No Classes

Beyond Classes

(Previously “Specialty Classes”)

Beyond classes cover patterns, concepts and dances outside the Rebels’ standard curriculum. They are not part of a series, so can be taken individually. If desired, they can still be purchased for the month by members, and are then regular price ($55) for the 3. Individually, they are $25 for members, $35 for non-members.

What are retake vouchers?

When you pay to take one of the West Coast Swing series classes, you also receive a retake voucher that can be used later to take that same class again, for up to a year, at a discounted price. And you still receive another retake voucher with that series, so you can take it as many times as you like with the discount – even try the opposite role!
